What is Diabetes?

There are two types of diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is not preventable. People with type 1 diabetes are born with it and get diabetes as kids. People with type 2 diabetes are usually overweight or obese and usually develop the disease (diabetes) later in life.

What is Type 2 Diabetes?

Type 2 diabetes is a disease where the body can't use insulin or sugar the right way. Insulin makes the body use sugar for energy. Type 2 diabetes can be a lifelong disease. Type 1 diabetes is always a lifelong disease and people with type 1 don't make enough insulin.
